Program Notes:
Purgatory is a mallet quartet adaptation of the fifth movement from 8 Sketches for Piano. The piece aims to represent a contemporary state of moral defeat, rather than the traditional Biblical depiction of Purgatory.

Purgatory was premiered on July 10, 2021 by Sandbox Percussion in their NYC Studio.
